Kangana Ranaut was born on March 23, 1987, in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Her father is a businessman, and her mother is a teacher. Before pursuing acting, her parents desired her to become a doctor, which she attempted, but failed a Chemistry exam in 12th grade. Consequently, she realized that this wasn’t the path she wished to pursue.

Afterward, she informed her parents that she didn’t want to pursue acting, which angered them. Since that day, they engaged in arguments every day. Then, one day, Kangana decided to enroll in a vocational course. She packed her bags and moved to Chandigarh to live with her friend.

At the age of 16, she found herself on her own as she wasn’t receiving any financial support from her parents. After a while, she relocated to Delhi, where she took on a few modeling assignments. However, she found the work monotonous and transitioned to theatre, where she learned acting under the guidance of director Arvind Gaur.
