Esha Oza is an Indian-born cricketer who has made a significant mark in International cricket. Currently, she is captaining the United Arab Emirates (UAE) national cricket team. In the past few years, Esha has become a prominent figure in the women’s cricket arena due to her exceptional talent and leadership skills. She made her international debut as a batting allrounder on 7 July 2018.

Esha Oza Professional Career
Domestic Career:
Esha Oza started her career at the Desert Cubs Cricket Academy. There, she got the full chance to develop her skills and emerged as a promising talent. In 2017, she led the winning team at the UAE National Women’s Tournament.
Esha came into the talk in 2018, when she participated in the ECB Women’s National T20 League. She was the top run scorer and joint-highest wicket-taker in the whole tournament. For her incredible performance, Esha made her place in the Most Valuable Player (MVP) list.
In the same year, she scored her maiden century. After that, she cemented her position as one of the strongest players in UAE cricket.
In 2018, she was selected as the only Emirati player for the ICC Women’s Development Squad. Since then, Esha Oza never looked back and her talent has been recognized globally. The team toured England to compete against KIA Super League teams. There, Esha got exposure to higher-level games. It helped her to focus on her weak areas.
International Career:
Esha made her international debut in July 2018. She got the opportunity to be in the 11 when she played against the Netherlands in the World Twenty20 Qualifiers. After that, she has become a huge asset of the UAE national cricket team.
After being selected for the Warriors Squad for Fairbreak International 2022, she continued to display her skills on the international level.
Esha Oza has done more for UAE cricket than just being a great batsman. Esha set a record for the highest score by a UAE international in limited overs. She scored an incredible 115 runs against Qatar at the ACC Women’s Championship 2022. Additionally, she has made history by being the fastest player in WT20Is to achieve 1000 T20I runs.
Esha Oza Won ICC’s Women’s Associate Cricketer of the Year 2022 Award
- Esha Oza has received several recognitions for her outstanding performances on the big stages. Among those, she was named the ICC Women’s Associate Player of the Year in 2022.
- She earned this honor through exceptional performance in T20s for the UAE. Esha concluded the season as the second-highest run-scorer in T20Is, amassing 675 runs in 23 innings at an average of 35.52 and a strike rate of 134.19. She stands as the only player to have scored two T20 centuries and two fifties last year.
- Apart from that, Esha also made an impression in T20Is in 2022 as an off spinner. She took 15 wickets in 16 innings at a nice average of 15.40 and an economy rate of 4.84. In her final international match against Pakistan, she claimed three wickets and finished 2022 on a high note.
