Amazon MGM Studios dropped the trailer of Channing Tatum’s next suspense-thriller titled, ‘Blink Twice’. The film marks the directorial debut of Tatum’s fiancée Zoe Kravitz, who is best known for playing Catwoman in The Batman (2022). Excited to be a part of the film, Tatum also shared the trailer on his Instagram handle. The film follows the story of a tech billionaire named Slater King, whose weekend getaway on a private island with his buddies becomes a nightmare when a series of murders occur.
What Is the Plot?
When Slater King (Channing Tatum) invites his buddies for a fun weekend, little did he know that it would turn out to be the biggest mistake of his life. The trailer begins with visuals of a sinister-looking Tatum sitting on a chair when he mentions, “everybody’s dead.” He then takes the viewer into the flashback as how it all started. Each character is introduced one by one, as their slightly weird personalities are revealed to the audience. “Did we just jet off to a billionaire’s island with a bunch of strangers”, exclaims an excited Frida, played by Naomi Ackie who gets invited to a ‘legendary party’ of Slater King. Frida and her friend Jess played by Alia Shawkat have the time of their lives, treating themselves to exotic drinks and expensive meals at the island. But things take a spooky turn when suddenly everyone’s phones are taken away and unexpected events start to unfold. People tend to forget things, some turn up with bruises, unaware of what is happening with them. Will Frida and Jess be able to escape out of this scary island?
Who Is in the Star Cast?
‘Blink Twice’ comes with a star-studded cast. Besides Channing Tatum, the film’s star cast includes Naomi Ackie, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Haley Joel Osment, Kyle MacLachlan, Alia Shawkat, Christian Slater, Geena Davis, and Levon Hawke.
Will It Be Released on OTT?
Debutant director Zoe Kravitz wrote and directed ‘Blink Twice‘ (co-written by E.T. Feigenbaum), which will be released in theaters on August 23, 2024. However, it is not yet clear if the film will be released on the OTT platform. However, given that it is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, it may be available on Prime Video or MGM+ a few months after its initial release.
What to Expect?

It will be for the first time that Channing Tatum will be playing a dark character in a film, a creepy tech billionaire who puts the lives of his friends at stake when he invites them to his island for a harrowing weekend.
Fans have been comparing it with the mystery film ‘Knives Out’ which was directed by Rian Johnson. The film starred Daniel Craig in the lead who played a private detective named Benoit Blanc. The story follows a mystery novelist named Harlan Thrombey’s birthday celebration which takes an evil turn when he is discovered dead by his servant on the next day. The detective then uncovers a complicated web of secrets and lies surrounding the novelist’s death as a succession of murders unfolds. ‘Blink Twice’ holds a similar theme, however it comes with a dark story-telling that promises to keep you glued to your seats.
Zoe Kravitz fans who are already enthralled with her acting can’t wait to watch her directorial debut on the big screen. Given fan reactions, the film has a greater likelihood of success at the box office.
