The story opens with a 25-year-old young man, whose distinctive mustache sparks a light-hearted argument with his Uncle. His Uncle teases him, saying he’s too young for such a bold look, to which the young man cheekily responds, “I want to look older, that’s why I keep it!” This playful exchange sets the tone for his charismatic yet mischievous personality. In the next scene, he’s seen zipping through the village on a bike with Sanyogita, a spirited young woman. Their carefree ride catches the eye of a villager, and soon, word of their budding romance reaches Sanyogita’s mother, Saroj.

Furious, Saroj confronts her daughter, scolding her for “shamelessly” roaming around with a man she believes is twice her age. Sanyogita defends her lover, insisting, “He’s a good guy, Ma, and he’s my age! Just meet him once, and you’ll like him too.” Unbeknownst to Sanyogita, her mother’s disapproval masks a deeper complexity that unfolds in the following scenes. The young man, ever the charmer, begins flirting with Saroj in the kitchen, catching her off guard.
