Starring John Cena and Jac Efron, ‘Ricky Stanicky’ is a recent American comedy film co-written and directed by Peter Farrelly. The film starts when three childhood friends Dean, Wes and JT create an imaginary friend named Ricky Stanicky to save themselves from getting in trouble. Twenty years later, they continued to use Ricky Stanicky as an excuse to secretly take part in crazy rendezvous. The story started taking a fun turn when their respective families became suspicious about the existence of Ricky and they had to hire an actor to pose as Ricky.

1) The Opening Scene (00:00:30 – 00:03:46)
The scene opens on Halloween 1999 when we see young Wes, Dean and JT on their way to dump animal faeces in someone’s house and burn it. But things took a wrong turn and they ended up burning quite a big portion of that house.
So to save their back they wrote Ricky Stanicky in a burnt jacket. We, as the audience, are introduced to Ricky Stanicky and see in the following scenes how non-existent Ricky is blamed for every mischief he never did.
2) Ricky Bible (00:09:16 – 00:11:08)
Another cackling scene is when JT decides to ditch his wife’s baby shower and go on a trip with his best friends Dean and Wes. They lied in the name of Ricky to go on a vacation.

While on the flight they brought out a red book which they call ‘The Bible’ where they keep updates about their lies, which is also their lies. They also have a ‘Stanicky phone’ where they keep posting about imaginary work Ricky does to make the lie look more plausible.
3) Meet Rod (00:12:00 – 00:15:14)
In a bar Wes, Dean and JT come across Rod who is an actor and impersonator. Rod shows them bad impressions of actors and tries his way to get them to buy him a drink and fried calamari. Rod gives one of his cards to Dean for the future. This scene may not have made the trio laugh but will surely make the audience laugh.

4) Ricky is Born (00:23:53 – 00:28:43)
JT’s mother-in-law is suspicious about Ricky and asks JT to invite him over to his newborn son’s circumcision ceremony or Bris. The trio couldn’t think of how to come out of this problem, they even thought about killing off Ricky but Dean remembers he has Rod’s number and decides to appoint him to act as Ricky. On the other hand, the audience sees Rod dressed up as a woman and performing his self-written vulgar parody songs which evokes laughter.
5) Duck Sitting on a Golf Ball (00:29:08 – 00:31:00)
Dean’s wife is a reporter who is given the responsibility to make news on a duck who is sitting in the middle of a golf course on a golf ball for 6 days.
The duck is also seen getting into a fight with their dog dragging it under water. This scene is hilarious in itself. After the fight, the duck went back to its position of protecting the ball believing it to be her egg.

6) Rod aka Ricky Arrives (00:31:30 – 00:34:28)
Rod aka Ricky arrives in a very bad condition because is having a relapse from not drinking for 3 days. When the trio asks him to drink because he has to be in top condition, Rod denies it because Ricky has been clean and sober for 7 years and Rod denies it because he has artistic integrity.
Rod keeps having withdrawals and pissed on his pants. This scene is hysterically funny and Ricky has to go to Wes’ house first to clear him up before going to JT’s house.
7) Baby Whitaker’s Circumcision (00:55:27 – 01:00:09)

The trio mistakenly drugged Rabbi with a ketamine pill instead of Polisner. During the circumcision, the Rabbi started reacting to the pill and passed out in between the ceremony leaving baby Whitaker half-circumcised. The trio fell into the trap of lies again as they had lied that Ricky had worked at the Bono foundation in Africa circumcising adults and everyone asked Ricky to finish the ceremony. Ricky not finding anything to do, took Ted Summerhayes’ cigar cutter to complete the circumcision.
8) Ricky Saved Carly (01:12:40 – 01:13:08)
In this scene, Ricky is seen with the trio and their family in a bowling alley and Carly’s long hair gets stuck in the automatic ball rack. Ricky saves the day leaving everyone shocked and the audience laughing.
9) Ricky Helped Summerhays (01:18:16 – 01:22:27)
In this hysterical sequence Ricky helped Summerhays by pointing out the mistake he has been making in his conferences, while that can also be the reason the World River Merger project is not getting finalized. Summerhays is pleased with Ricky and wants to make him the leader of the project making Dean angry.
10) Ricky Comes Clean (01:36:18 – 01:42:00)
In the Hero of the Week report segment when Ricky is interviewed He comes clean to everyone about his journey from Rod to Ricky how the trio has helped him for better in his life and how he is thankful for them. Summerhays was still angry with Dean and was about to fire him the World River executive approached Summerhays appreciating his choice to hire Ricky and giving him a second chance in his life and said they were ready to move on with the merger Summerhays enthusiastically agreed to it. This scene is wholesome, funny and lovely for the audience and the movie ends on a good note and friendship.
“Ricky Stanicky” Ending Explained
Rod who was living the pretend life of Ricky, started getting adjusted to this life and eventually legally got his name changed. He understands what living a good honest life looks like and tries his best to get adjusted to it. He secured a good job and made some good friends and a girlfriend. Ricky not only improved his life but also the trio’s life. Ricky helped Wes mend his relationship with his partner and encouraged him to continue with his passion for writing. Because of Ricky, Dean and his girlfriend’s relationship after going through thick and thin grew stronger, and eventually they got married. Carly became confident about herself staying with him and decided to cut her hair and donate it to cancer patients.
