IC814 The Kandahar Hijack is an upcoming drama thriller series which is expected to release tentatively in April 2024 on Netflix. The stellar cast of IC814 includes Vijay Varma, Pankaj Kapur, Arvind Swamy, Amrita Puri, Dia Mirza, Anupam Tripathi, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Naseeruddin Shah, Pooja Gaur, Sushant Singh, Kanwaljit Singh, Manoj Pahwa, Patralekhaa, Kumud Mishra, Yashpal Sharma and Aditya Srivastava.
The web series will be released primarily in the hindi language and there will be a total of 8 episodes, each episode of approximately 30-35 minutes long.
What is the Story behind IC814 The Kandahar Hijack?
The story of IC814 is based on the real events happened back in December 24, 1999 when a group of terrorists hijacked the Airlines from Kathmandu. Airlines were carrying 180 passengers who were kept hostage for a week.
During this hijack the airlines was taken from Kathmandu to Lahore for refuelling and then went to Kandhar where terrorists negotiated with the Indian government to release the passengers in exchange of their commander in-chief Masood Azhar along with two other terrorists. After seven days of negotiation government accepted the demands and all passengers were released.

IC 814 is created and directed by Anubhav Sinha. The series is produced by Sanjay Routray and Sarita Patil under the banner of Matchbox Shots in collaboration with Benaras Mediaworks.
