The drama aired on Netflix on March 9, 2024, and is still ongoing, capturing the attention of many people. One episode is released every Saturday and Sunday. It was written by Park Ji Eun and directed by Jang Young-woo and Kim Hee-won, with the genre being a romantic comedy. The lead roles in the show are played by Baek Hyun-woo and Hong Hae-in.

  • Kim Soo-Hyun portrays the role of Baek Hyun-woo: He is a lawyer and the husband of Hong Hae-in. His wife comes from a wealthy background, owning a group called the Queen Group, and he is assigned as the legal director for the group. He is a kind-hearted person, but we also see that he is not very comfortable with showcasing his emotions, a husband who cares for his wife but is unable to show his affection openly.
  • Kim Ji-won portrays the role of Hong Hae-in: She is the female protagonist in the drama. Extremely refined in her work affairs and goal-oriented, she is portrayed as cold and unfriendly. At the start, it is revealed that she is terminally ill, which changes the dynamics of her relationship with her husband, Baek Hyun-woo. Despite being married, their relationship seemed very distant and cold.
  • Park Sung-hoon portrays the role of Yoon Eun-sung or David Yoon: He is portrayed as a character who is very smart and charming. After living abroad and returning to South Korea, he started a business venture as an investor with the Queens Group. He tries his best to win over Hong Hae-in as a lover but is unable to do so. His character seems a little mysterious since his intentions with the Queens Group remain unknown.

Episode 1

Episode 1 opens with an interview featuring the two main leads, Baek Hyun-woo and Hong Hae-in, discussing their married life. As the scene unfolds, we witness the cold reality of their relationship.

We observe Hyun-woo and Hae-in’s work lives and how their differing viewpoints often lead to arguments. Hyun-woo confides in a friend about his struggles living with his wife and her family, contemplating divorce due to the challenges he faces. He becomes involved in a case related to Hae-in’s jailed aunt, attending a memorial service where tensions rise momentarily when the aunt causes a scene.

Despite his reluctance, Hyun-woo is compelled to take on a case for the family, unable to voice his objections. Seeking solace, he visits a therapist to cope with the immense pressure he faces living under the same roof as Hae-in’s family, particularly her grandfather, the influential figure in their town. Hyun-woo visits his family in a rural area to discuss his divorce decision. However, before he could proceed, Hae-in reveals that she has been diagnosed with a terminal illness, leaving Hyun-woo speechless and conflicted about his next steps.

After hearing the news from his wife that she had only 3 months to live, he became extremely apologetic towards his wife. As the scene unfolds, we see signs of her forgetfulness due to terminal sickness.

Baek Hyun-woo becomes very caring towards his wife, and this becomes very awkward for the two. He becomes extremely worried for his wife. The decision not to tell her family is strictly made by Hong Hae-in to her husband, Baek Hyun-woo. Then, after this, Hong Hae-in’s younger brother gets into huge trouble with his grandfather for overpaying eight billion won and other problems. 

A strained relationship between Hong Hae-in and her mother is also revealed. We also see the lifestyle of Baek Hyun-woo and his family living in the rural area. Baek Hyun-woo visits the doctor again regarding the health of his wife and is deeply concerned. 

He takes his time browsing to find news of miracles in such cases, even at home, and falls asleep in doing so. His wife comes and sees his research and is happy to know that her husband cares for her and admits that she doubted him to be happy that she did not have much time to live, as she knows the other siblings would have been happy about it.

We also see how competitive brands are, especially in an event where Hong Hae-in meets another person who brags about her love life and compares it with Hong Hae-in’s. Hong Hae-in is put in an awkward position, but in the end, her husband comes right on time, making her appearance even greater.

The meeting of lots of people takes place at the event, where Hong Hae-in meets a new investor named Yoon Eun-sung also known as David Yoon. The family of Hong Hae-in along with her husband and the new investor for a shooting in a forest. There Hong Hae-in comes face to face with a bear.

Episode 3

In this episode, we see a small glimpse of Hong Hae-in and Baek Hyun-woo’s past before marriage, in his hometown. Back to the present, Baek Hyun-woo arrives right on time and saves Hong Hae-in, taking her back to their home as she needs rest. He carries her home, shocking everyone. 

The family comes to know of the incident and starts investigating. The fact that Baek Hyun-woo saved Hong Hae-in impresses Hong Hae-in’s father and he automatically starts treating him well. He even praises him in family meetings, which seems very rare. The current wife of Hong Hae-in is extremely superstitious and is grateful that her husband Hong Hae-in’s grandfather did not go for the shooting that day because she believed he would have been in grave danger. 

We also witness a scene involving Hong Soo-cheol and his wife, who initially appears to be very sweet. However, her true nature comes into question when she quickly downs a glass of alcohol after her husband leaves, despite previously telling him that she does not drink. 

We also see a cold and rather evil side of Yoon Eun-sung as he almost tries to shoot the dog, who is very loved by the owner. Back to the usual routine of work life, Hong Hae-in is more attracted towards her husband as she sees him at work.

Hong Hae-in finds her being more emotional than ever, rather than being cold. The relationship between Hong Hae-in’s father and his brother is also extremely strained. We also see the visit of Baek Hyun-woo’s siblings to Hong Hae-in. 

Hong Hae-in meets with Yoon Eun-sung, who tries to lure her to his side but fails. He drops Hong Hae at home as Baek Hyun-woo waits for her worried.  The episode ends with Hong Hae-in kissing Baek Hyun-woo, stating that she’d try something different.

Episode 4

This episode starts extremely awkwardly, especially for Baek Hyun-woo, after the kiss. The story then moves back to the past when the couple were expecting a baby and were more excited than ever as to-be parents.

However, we see that the baby was never born. His feelings for his wife begin to slowly grow, making him feel nervous. Baek Hyun-woo also becomes jealous when Yoon Eun-sung touches his wife’s hair. Despite this, we see the start of a new relationship of love and care taking place in Baek Hyun-woo’s heart. He begins to grow jealous of Yoon Eun-sung, which brings in a comedic scene; however, his heart does not admit to that.

A couple arrives at the mall and attacks the brand of Hong Hae-in, stating how the brand destroyed her skin. They ask for a refund and begin to create a scene. Hong Hae-in comes in at the perfect moment and deals with it, saving the reputation of the brand as well as the workers there. As Baek Hyun-woo’s father runs for an election in their rural village, Hong Hae-in turns up with a load of cars and trucks with food in support of him. This brings a lot of happiness to the people and her husband’s family.

Soon after, Baek Hyun-woo goes in search of his wife, she is missing. He goes to his hometown and tries to find her there. He takes a bicycle and goes everywhere, finally finding his wife in the middle of the road looking lost. He yells at her in worry and asks her why she’s there, but there is no response from her. As he turns back and walks away, she gathers the courage to say that she doesn’t remember how she ended up there, with tears in her eyes. Baek Hyun-woo rushes towards her and hugs her.

We witness the couple together, shedding tears as they ride back home in the drizzle. Taking shelter, Baek Hyun-woo learns why she came alone, and as they sit together, they see his family searching for her in the rain, making her realize their care. They spend the night at Hyun-woo’s family place. Concerned about their last discussion on divorce leaking, Hyun-woo’s family investigates discreetly, involving a marriage counselor.

Meanwhile, Hyun-woo comforts Hong Hae-in, who asks him to accompany her for treatment in Europe. However, his attempt to kiss her leaves her anxious, revealing past tensions about her cold demeanor towards their relationship. Grieving in their own ways, Hae-in anxiously waits for her husband’s return, while Yoon Eun-sung appears at their home.

Hae-in finds a persistent mark on her hand, meeting Yoo Eun-sung for treatment. Meanwhile, the family discusses an investment, leading to tension between Hyun-woo and his younger brother. Arguments ensue between the chairman’s daughter and second wife, escalating to a physical altercation. Following the chaos, the daughter investigates her stepmother. Eventually, Hae-in leaves for treatment abroad, realizing time’s urgency. In Europe, she hears her husband’s voice and finds solace, ending the episode with a heartfelt reunion and a kiss.

Meanwhile, Baek Hyun-woo and Hong Hae-in are in Europe, enjoying their time together and strengthening their love. Hong Hae-in surprises Baek Hyun-woo by discussing her funeral plans, which leaves him feeling speechless and emotional. Later, Hong Hae-in’s mother and brother argue over a valuable wind ginseng, which Hong Hae-in’s aunt demands to have. This causes tension, and the brother storms off angrily. Meanwhile, in Europe, Baek Hyun-woo and Hong Hae-in spend a rare night together in the same bed. Baek Hyun-woo prays in a church and meets with his wife’s doctor. During a family meal, the aunt makes a suggestive comment about Hong Soo-cheo’s son, hinting that he may not be the father. However, he defends his family and leaves the meal after heated exchanges. In Europe, the couple wanders the streets and goes to a hospital where Hong Hae-in prepares for treatment, with Baek Hyun-woo faithfully by her side. When she runs away in distress, he chases after her and holds her close, understanding her actions. This reveals a past grudge between Hong Hae-in and her mother over the death of her older brother. Back in Korea, someone installs a listening device in the family’s house, which Yoon Eun-sung uses to spy on them through a hidden camera. Meanwhile, tension arises between the couple in Europe when Hong Hae-in discovers a divorce settlement agreement that Baek Hyun-woo received a text about.
